Preparing for Your New Hamster

Cage - make sure it is the appropriate size for type of hamster

Food - hamster food, nothing else

Bedding - remember, aspen or biodegradable

Wheel - solid of course

Water bottle - not a water bowl, hamsters can drown

Food Dish - made of heavy duty plastic, or ceramic

Run about ball - make sure the ball is the appropriate size for type of hamster.

Play pen - be sure to watch your hamster in the pen, it may try to escape

Litter box - use hamster, or small animal litter, not any clay based litter

Wood chews - all hamsters have forever growing incisors, be sure to supply something to keep their teeth trimmed. If hamster does not like wood chews try MilkBone® dog biscuits.
